The city with no name...

For now has a name. It may change at some point but so far this name seems like it seems appropriate.

The name of the city will be Abercair.

I had sat down and was adding more to the story when I thought I would have a look at the section that I printed out on town names. I thought I would try it out when I had thought of the idea and it sounded fine.

I did not get chance to write during the day as my partner did not take the younglings to his mums house as he normally does, however I did manage to get some written in the evening as my step daughter was on my computer.

I am hoping to write some more before I go to sleep. I think it would be better to get things written while ideas are still fresh in my mind. If I leave it there is a possibility that it will be more challenging to pick up where I have left off. I am happy with how things are coming along.

Though I am starting to have doubts about selling it on E-Bay when I have done. I will see how I feel when I have finished. It does not really matter if I decide to sell it or not as I really am writing it for me.

A name for the city

I have been racking my brains for a name for the city where my short stories are going to be based.

I have got ideas for part of the name but not the full name. I am hoping that I will have some inspiration about what to call it.

I have not had the chance to add much more to my first story, but that will hopefully change tomorrow when I will set some time to sit down and write some more.

Starting to make progress

I have not had that much time to write, but what time that I have had has been productive.

I am now starting to get a good idea of how the first story will come together, so writing it has started to get easier.

I also found some names that I should be able to start making a database from as well as well as finding out some information about how Celtic place names were devised. That will help me create a place name rather than using an existing place name or an historical one.

It is good to start making good progress though.

I started working on the first short story again.

I managed to get some work on my short story in the morning. I have decided that while the twins are at nursery I will spend some time in the morning working on my short stories.

I will also take the story to bed with me and see what I can get done before I go to sleep. I think tomorrow morning what I will do is just work on getting a good list of names to choose from. I need to name the town where the short story series is set as well as thinking of names for the new characters that I am going to introduce.

Hehe it is a good job that I do not write for a living as I would be pretty poor at the moment. Having said that, if I did do it for a living I would make sure that I made a heck of a lot more time to write.

Hopefully I will be able to get some good progress in the next few days.

Getting names

I have managed to get a list of traditional Scottish names for my stories. I will make up some more lists to give me a good choice.

I have not been able to make much more progress with the story at the moment as I have so busy during the day and by the time I get the time to write I am tooired to think. I will have another attempt tonight. Even if I only get a little written it will be better than nothing.

Started my new short story series

I have started writing a new short story series and I am planning on selling it on E-Bay to start with.

I have chosen which will be my first short story and I have worked out the plot for the story. Working out the plot has also given me an idea for another story for the series.

I also now need to work out names for people and places. I think I will use traditional Scottish names as well as Pictish names.

Now to get working on the first story.

New year

It is the new year already.

I wonder what I will be able to produce in the next year.

I am planning on writing a short story series and starting a romance story. Lets see how much of that I can achieve. It is very challenging to get the time to get anything written while the twins are at nursery, but i will do what I can.
